Why is my boiler leaking water?
Common causes are a failed internal seal, corrosion inside the unit, pressure relief valve opening due to overpressure, or a cracked heat exchanger. A qualified engineer must diagnose the fault before repair or replacement.
How do I know if a pipe is frozen?
No water flows from affected taps but others work fine. Tapping the visible pipe may produce a hollow sound. Pipes in unheated spaces like lofts, under floors or outside are at highest risk in winter.
What causes a radiator to stay cold at the bottom?
Sludge and air blockages accumulate over time inside the system. The sludge settles and restricts flow to the bottom of radiators. Bleeding air from the radiator or flushing the entire system removes these obstructions.
Can I use drain cleaner to unblock a drain myself?
Chemical drain cleaners can damage older pipework, harm traps, and create hazards. They also often fail to remove solid blockages. Professional unblocking using rods or water jets is safer and more effective.
